Simon Ofield: Profile

Simon Ofield is interested in the relationships between historical research, theoretical analysis and social/sexual/visual pleasure and practice; and is currently completing a series of articles on the connections between visual and spatial culture, and male social/sexual practices and pleasures in and around London after the Second World War, focusing on the work of Francis Bacon, Cecil Beaton, Keith Vaughan and David Hockney. He has published articles on the connections between public space, visual culture and male social/sexual practice and identity, and has an ongoing research interest in studio practice and its relationships with historical and theoretical inquiry.
