The Boiler House, Ballymun, Dublin, Ireland: February 2002

Illumination (2002), was installed at the Boiler House on the Ballymun Estate in Dublin. Eight, 400 watt red metal-halide lamps illuminate the base of the building and front of the chimney. Two 200-watt directional magenta spots positioned at the back base of the chimney. A motorised mirror ball is placed within the internal spiral staircase structure with two magenta spots. Illumination was informed by the research conducted for the project With Intent (2002), a series of interrelated installation works using sound, space, video, and light.
